The UGC has launched a scheme for Skill Development in higher education as a part of College /University education, leading to three year Bachelor of Vocation (BVoc) degree with multiple exits for those who wish to discontinue for any reason. The BVoc program is focused on Undergraduate studies which incorporates specific job roles along with the general education.
As the scope of employment in the Travel, Tourism and the Hospitality sector is very bright having high potentials with varied opportunities, Kelkar Education Trust’s Vinayak Ganesh Vaze college (Autonomous) has designed a Three Year BVoc Degree program in Tourism and Hospitality under the guidelines of UGC. The College has got UGC approval for the same from the year 2018-19, and the course has started successfully from 31st August, 2018. The Maximum intake capacity for the course is 50 students (each batch).
The Vaze BVOC Tourism and Hospitality course contents have been approved by the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council , India (THSC). The system of certification for the skill components is as per the National Occupation standards (NSQF) defined by the Sector Skill Council. Students will be trained on computer reservation system. While the General education components include the curriculum of the normal university standards, and it attempts to provide holistic development of the students.
The course will thus create industry- ready students and also will train students to become successful entrepreneurs , both of which will enable students to make bright careers in this sector definitely.
